Celebration of World Autism Awareness Day 2025

As part of the World Autism Awareness Day 2025 celebrations, Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, organised a series of inclusive and engaging activities throughout the month of April 2025. From Wednesday, 02 April 2025 to Tuesday, 08 April 2025, the school held a Blue Day Celebration, with 960 pupils, including children with special needs (CWSN) and their peers, taking part. Staff and students wore blue—the colour that symbolises support for individuals with autism—as a gesture of solidarity and inclusion. The event created an atmosphere of acceptance, unity, and meaningful conversations around autism.
Between 15 April 2025 and 22 April 2025, 550 pupils participated in a poster-making activity aimed at raising awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Using bright colours, symbols, and creative artwork, students conveyed strong messages promoting inclusivity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the autism community.
To continue the month-long observance, a series of informative talks were delivered by the school counsellor from 24 April 2025 to 30 April 2025, reaching 870 pupils. These sessions aimed to educate students about autism, address common misconceptions, and highlight the unique strengths and challenges faced by individuals on the spectrum. The discussions encouraged open dialogue, questions, and thoughtful reflections, nurturing a more aware and supportive school environment.
