‘Our Planet, Our Power — Small Actions Today, A Greener Tomorrow’

On the occasion of Earth Day, Wednesday, 22 April 2026, the theme “Our Planet, Our Power” was observed with great enthusiasm and awareness at SPSMV. The aim of the programme was to instil a strong sense of responsibility and belonging towards the Earth, encouraging students to recognise their role in protecting, preserving, and nurturing the environment for a sustainable future.
The day commenced with the screening of informative and age-appropriate videos for all classes, helping students understand environmental challenges and the importance of sustainable practices. An engaging and well-presented assembly was conducted by Class VI-B, effectively highlighting the significance, aims, and objectives of Earth Day through thoughtful messages and presentations.
Students participated wholeheartedly in a range of creative and meaningful activities such as Trash to Treasure, comic strip making, and dressing up as eco-heroes like the Sun, Tree, Water Drop, and Earth Guardian, during which they confidently shared simple yet impactful ways to protect the planet. A cleanliness drive was also undertaken to promote civic responsibility, followed by an online quiz that reinforced their learning in an interactive manner.
The activities showcased the students’ creativity, awareness, and commitment, making the observance enriching, impactful, and truly inspiring for all.
