Vigilance Awareness 2023: Integrity Pledge

  As part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023, which observes the theme, “Say No to Corruption, Commit to the  Nation”, an ‘Integrity Pledge’ was taken by students of classes IX and XI, during the morning assembly on 02 November 2023, acknowledging the importance of taking active steps towards combating corruption in order to achieve the highest standards of living. The pledge encouraged the participants to honour and uphold integrity and transparency in their day to day conduct. Initiatives such as these, work as a significant and powerful reminder towards conscious and mindful living. They are also an excellent medium to spread awareness regarding one’s duties towards the nation.

Knowing your Surroundings

The students of Nursery and KG visited the Safal Store on Thursday and Friday, 19 October and 20 October 2023. It was an educative visit wherein the children explored different store sections. The tiny tots got an opportunity to identify various healthy and unhealthy foods under the guidance of their teachers. They also observed the store’s billing process and customer service. Thereafter, they all enjoyed ice cream as a delightful treat. This exercise not only gave them an insight into the functioning of the store, but also enhanced their knowledge. After the visit, they made ice cream popsicles in the class as a class activity.    

Dussehra Celebration

    On 20 October 2023, a special Dussehra assembly was organised for classes III to IX and XI to commemorate the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, symbolizing the power of righteousness and truth over falsehood and wickedness. The assembly commenced with a heartfelt prayer, seeking the blessings of the almighty. It was followed by the melodious performance by the school choir group. The primary students presented Ramleela in the form of dance drama. Thereafter,  a vibrant dance performance as presented, which filled the atmosphere with joy and energy. Finally, Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd.), Principal, shared her thoughts on the significance of the day. She emphasized on the importance of upholding truth, righteousness, and virtue even in the face of adversity. It reminds us that no matter how formidable the challenges may seem, goodness and honesty always prevail. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.    

Cyber Safety Awareness Workshop

                      Resource person:  Shri H.S. Randawa, an ACP-Cyber Crime Officer from the Delhi Police. A highly informative and enlightening session on “Cyber Safety Awareness” as part of the commemoration of National Cyber Awareness Month was organised for a safer Digital Future. Mr. H S Randhawa joined us for an eye-opening session on the same. With his insights and expertise from Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO), Delhi Police, he enlightened the students on how to navigate the digital world safely, recognize and report cyber incidents, and ensure a more secure online environment for all. He emphasized the legal consequences of using prohibited substances and the potential impact on an individual’s future. The session concluded with a pledge to be a good digital citizen and strong emphasis on the collective responsibility of individuals, organizations, and law enforcement agencies to collaborate in combating cybercrime.

Chandrayaan Utsav

Under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ AKAM, ‘Chandrayaan Utsav’ has been launched to celebrate India’s ambitious and successful lunar mission. On 23d August 2023, lndia made history as its Chandrayaan-3 lander module successfully landed on the moon’s South-pole region, making India the first country to have achieved this historic feat. To commemorate this great achievement, the students of class IV participated in Drawing and Colouring activity, “India is on Moon” enthusiastically on 13 October 2023.The idea behind the campaign was to celebrate and honour India’s progress and ascent on the global stage and inspire young minds to join the realms of space exploration and science. The activity not only provided our young learners an opportunity for their creative expression but also helped them to realize that we should embrace failure as a stepping stone, not a stumbling block to achieve our goal.

“Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav”

Literature enriches a student’s life by offering a window into diverse cultures, emotions, and human experiences, and broadening perspectives. It cultivates critical thinking, enhances language skills, and nurtures creativity. On 9 October 2023, facilitators of grades 1 and 2 enhanced literary understanding and creativity among young learners by incorporating role play to bring a moral story to life. The role play on safety measures for children when alone at home provided a vivid and immersive learning experience. By bringing this critical scenario to life, it enhanced students’ understanding of essential values such as responsibility, caution, and the importance of a safe environment.  

“Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav” Environment/ Nature

Following activities were conducted in ECD Department with learners from classes Nursery and KG: Activity: Seed Germination Young age is the most appropriate time to sow seeds of sustainability and care for Mother Earth. On 29 September 2023, an activity on germination of seeds was conducted with Nursery and K.G students. They were sensitized about the plantation process and the need to keep the environment clean and green. They adopted a plant and placed it in a pot. It was indeed an enriching experience for the young learners, who, through the hands-on activity, imbibed the message “plant more trees”, and carried to their homes an immense love for mother nature in their hearts.   Activity: Van Mahotsav The activity was organized in classes Nursery and KG on 3 October 2023, to educate the learners about the significance of trees and to encourage them to take good care of them. Students were taken on a walk to explore the captivating nature. They were also taught about the various benefits of trees. Thereafter, they were given paper leaves to wear which had the message- ‘Save Trees’ written on them. It was truly heartening to see young children taking an interest in environmental conservation.

Teacher’s Day and Janmashtami Assembly

The program commenced with the Teacher’s Day celebration, which is observed on 5th September every year to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great scholar, and India’s second President. Following the Teacher’s Day celebration, focus shifted to Janmashtami, the celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna, who is revered as the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Students presented beautiful scenes from Lord Krishna’s life. In conclusion, the assembly was a harmonious blend of honoring our dedicated teachers and celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna. It was an opportunity for us to express our gratitude towards our teachers and learn about the rich cultural heritage of our country. At the end students took a pledge to keep the school and earth clean.

CBSE Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival – 2023

The CBSE Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival held in 2023 proved to be a resounding success, showcasing the immense potential and talent of students across various disciplines. The event, organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), aimed to promote skill development and career guidance among students on 19th and 20th September 2023 at NASC Auditorium, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Pusa Road, Delhi 12. The Expo featured a diverse range of skills and talents, with students at national level demonstrating proficiency in fields like coding, robotics, culinary arts, and more. The interactive cupolas allowed participants to not only display their skills but also learn from one another, fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation. Mohd Saad and Vaibhav Singh of class IX A represented their project “Sumadra Kavach,” exhibited remarkable ingenuity at the CBSE Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival 2023. Their participation in the National Coding Challenge 2023 showcased their exceptional coding skills. “Sumadra Kavach” garnered significant attention for its innovative approach to National Coding Challenge. The project not only demonstrated technical proficiency but also highlighted their commitment to addressing real-world challenges keeping in mind the Sustainable Goals spelled by United Nation. The duo’s contribution was invaluable and their project was appreciated by Sh. R.P. Singh, Joint Secretary-CBSE (Skill Education) and Smt. Vinnie Jauhari Joint Director Skill –Microsoft.
