In the serene surroundings of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, a joyful flower show took place from 07 to 12 March 2024. Everyone, young and old, gathered to witness nature’s beauty. The weather was just right, with a gentle breeze and lush green grass adding to the charm. Petunias, dahlias, and other flowers filled the air with their colours and scents. People admired the carefully arranged displays of salvia and cineraria. It was a delightful sight, reminding us of the happiness that nature brings. The quote, “Happiness held is the seed; Happiness shared is the flower,” rang true as we all shared in the joy of the moment. The flower show was not just about flowers; it was about spreading happiness and hope, just like flowers do when they bloom.
Report on Integrating AI into teaching of Mathematics

Number of Participants– 7 teachers from SPSMV Speaker: Smt. Sonia Wadhwa The session conducted by Salwan Education Trust and led by Smt. Sonia Wadhwa offered an in-depth exploration of the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the teaching of mathematics. The primary objective of this training was to emphasise the significance of AI in enhancing the overall teaching and learning experience in mathematics education. The key components of artificial intelligence discussed included: Computer Vision Natural Language Processing Ability to make human-like decisions by leveraging data The session highlighted various ways AI can be effectively incorporated into mathematics education, including: Adaptive Learning Platforms Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) Gamification Virtual Assistants and Chatbots The discussion underscored the importance of utilizing specific tools and resources to support educators and researchers in advancing scientific knowledge. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released comprehensive AI integration manuals specifically tailored for teaching Mathematics. These manuals offer educators practical guidance and a wealth of resources for seamlessly integrating AI concepts and tools into the mathematics curriculum. The integration of AI concepts and tools into the mathematics curriculum empowers educators to cultivate critical thinking skills and computational literacy among students. This integration fosters a culture of mathematical inquiry and progress, equipping students with the necessary skills to explore mathematical concepts with depth and precision.
Day Camp

Classes Involved: VI-VIII A Day Camp was organised for students of classes VI-VIII on Monday, 12 March 2024 by ‘Climb Up’ in the school greens. Students enthusiastically participated in an array of adventure activities including Zorb Roller, Balance Beam, Zip Line, Wall Climbing, Hop Scotch, Human Tank, Commando Crawl, Trampoline, Zip Line etc. The activities enhanced the students’ overall experience and helped in developing leadership and team building skills. The students had a delightful experience, and they carried memories that would remain etched in their hearts for a lifetime.
Adventure Day Camp

Classes Involved: I-II A Day Camp was organised for students of classes Nursery to II on Wednesday, 13 March,2024 under the supervision of teachers and professional instructors. This camp helped students to develop basic athletic skills such as balancing and coordination. The students arrived bubbling with excitement. Many activities that enhance the gross motor skills were set up on the field. It encompassed an array of adventure activities like Commando Net, Commando Crawl, Trampoline, Zip Line etc. The children participated with zeal and were delighted when they completed each task. Students had a joyful experience. The camp concluded with unforgettable memories.
Adventure Day Camp

Classes Involved: III – V A Day Camp was organised for students of classes III – V on Tuesday, 12 March,2024by ‘Climb Up’ in the school greens. Students enthusiastically participated in anarray of adventure activities including Zip Line, Tug of War, Wall Climbing, Burma Bridge, Commando Net, Commando Crawl, Trampoline, Zip Line etc, enriching the students’ overall experiences. Engaging in various team sports and interactive physical games, the students not only had a great time but also fostered valuable team-building qualities. The students had a joyful experience and carried unforgettable memories with them to be cherished forever.
CBSE Adolescent Peer Educators Life Skills Leadership Programme

Organiser:CBSE Participants: Ms. Shalu Kathpalia& Dr. Preeti Jain Divit Raheja, Akshaj Singla, Vedika Raj Singh, and Priyanka (Students) The Central Board of Senior Secondary Education (CBSE) in collaboration with Expressions India, conducted a training for adolescents, ‘Adolescent Peer Educators Life Skills Leadership Program’ from 11 March to 14 March 2024. Several schools from across the country came together on a virtual platform to participate in the training. Ms. Priyanka, Ms Vedika from class XI, and Divit and Akshaj both from class IX represented Salwan Schoolas adolescent peer educators, accompanied by their teachers Dr. Preeti Jain and Ms. Shalu Kathpalia.The purpose of the programme was to impart life skills to the students that are useful in the context of everyday life and relevant to contemporary times. Its key objective was to enable them to recognise the role of mental health and well-being and to make them apply their best efforts to practically execute the learnings from the training, in creative ways. The training programme was divided into four days with one key module encapsulating a different theme each day. Day 1 On the first day, the students were introduced to the objectives of the programme along with its relevance in contemporary times and how it would empower them. The first theme focused on the commonly observed health concerns such as nutritional issues, substance use/abuse and puberty related issues. The key messages of the module centred on normalising the emotional storms of adolescence Day 2 The next theme was titled ‘Building resilience for coping and capacity building’, which began with a short ice-breaking activity, followed by introducing the students to the importance of resilience- the capacity to bounce back from any hurdle. It was highlighted that resilience does not mean that the students will not be affected by challenges or adversities, but they will acquire the skill to deal with these difficult situations. Day 3 The third day’s theme centred around ‘A healthy expression of emotions. After a recapitulation of the previous session, the students collectively introspected on what the term ‘emotion’ meant. Through an activity, the students were invited to reflect on their emotions, especially the more difficult ones. Emotions, as per the facilitator, were transient and not permanent. They had a ripple effect on our surroundings. Day 4 On the final day of the workshop, the students were introduced to the theme of ‘Digital Literacy’, with the key objective of helping students safely navigate the internet, follow digital etiquette and hygiene along with acquiring some awareness on the downsides of being on the internet The session concluded with the agreement that being safe on the internet is a personal as well as a collective responsibility shared by us, the government, the developer/owner of a particular social media platform besides our teachers, parents and mentors. The children were made aware of the effects of data phishing, harmful games on the internet and the ways in which hackers illegally steal information, which ultimately have a detrimental effect on physical as well as mental health. The child helpline number (1098) was shared with the participants along with various strategies to be safe on digital platforms.
Hasya Kavita Activity

It is said that laughter is the best medicine. So, to add humour to the life of students and share a good laugh with all, the Hindi Hasya Kavita activity was organized in classes I and II on Friday, 0 9 February 2024. In keeping with the theme, students recited funny and humorous poems full of wit and wisdom with proper voice modulation, pronunciation, props and the required expressions. It was indeed a very entertaining activity where each participant tickled the funny bone and brought a smile to the faces of their classmates.
Spreading Awareness on Disaster Management

Disasters, be they natural or man-made, pose significant threats to lives and properties, emphasising the need for heightened awareness and preparedness. A recent initiative aimed for students of classes III to VIII to enhance disaster management understanding. The programme included a video presentation illustrating various disaster scenarios and emphasised remaining calm, following evacuation procedures, and seeking help during emergencies. Interactive sessions encouraged student engagement, while teachers highlighted the importance of preparedness plans and evacuation maps. Evacuation maps were prominently displayed in classrooms for easy reference. The programme successfully increased students’ awareness of disaster management, fostering a sense of community engagement and responsibility. It underscored the collective effort needed for everyone’s safety within school premises. Going forward, regular drills and ongoing education initiatives are recommended to reinforce preparedness concepts and ensure sustained resilience.
The Closing Ceremony of Abacus and Vedic Math Clubs

Salwan Public School culminated its Abacus and Vedic Math clubs with a memorable closing ceremony, marking the participation of the enthusiastic club students. The event kicked off with a warm welcome and felicitation extended to the esteemed guests Mr. Jaywardhan Rishi and Mr. Shobit Gupta, the mentors of the clubs. The honour was graciously bestowed by Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd.), the Principal SPSMV, alongside Ms. Sheetal Kapoor, Headmistress SPS MV. The event was followed by a soulful performance and a captivating visual journey of the club’s achievements. The mentors showcased the remarkable skills of the students, receiving accolades from the audience. The insightful words of Capt Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal SPS MV emphasised the importance of mathematical proficiency. She expressed her commitment to fostering an environment that removes math phobia, ensuring that students view Mathematics as an exciting journey of discovery rather than a daunting challenge. The ceremony concluded on a heartening note as parents penned appreciative comments in the visitors’ book, expressing gratitude for the positive impact of the clubs on their children’s mathematical expertise and holistic development. This celebration not only recognised achievements but also reinforced the commitment to fostering a love for Mathematics among students.
Social Etiquette

The ‘Social Etiquette’ workshop, held in our school in collaboration with HT Pace on 05 February, 2024, was a valuable experience for students in classes III to IX. Led by Shri Lucky Puchharat, the session emphasized the importance of good behavior and manners, both within and beyond the school environment. During the workshop, Shri Puchharat shared real-life examples and insights from his own experiences, creating an engaging learning atmosphere. He also highlighted the contributions of other researchers in the field of social etiquette. The workshop was structured around social etiquette encompasses respect, punctuality, effective communication, table manners, dress code adherence, gratitude, personal hygiene, respecting personal space, apologizing, forgiving, and cultural sensitivity. Students gained valuable insights into how social etiquette contributes to personal and social development. Overall, it was an enriching experience that left a positive impact on the students.
