Salwan Public School Celebrates Republic Day and Basant Panchami with Patriotic and Spiritual Fervour

Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar celebrated the 77th Republic Day along with Basant Panchami on Friday, 26 January 2026, with great devotion, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit during the morning assembly.

The programme commenced on a spiritual note with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. Students listened to a brief talk highlighting the significance of Basant Panchami, which marks the arrival of spring and honours the Goddess of wisdom and learning. Senior and junior students offered a heartfelt ode to Saraswati Maa. As a mark of reverence for knowledge, students placed their books together and expressed gratitude in Dhanyavad Mudra. The entire school community paid tribute to the Goddess and sought her blessings for wisdom, success, and academic growth.

The importance of Republic Day was also highlighted, recalling the historic adoption of the Indian Constitution and the values of justice, equality, and liberty enshrined in it. To deepen students’ understanding, a video on the making of the Indian Constitution was screened in classrooms.

The celebration was further enriched with cultural presentations, including songs, dance performances, and poetry recitations by the students, which added colour and vibrancy to the occasion. The Principal addressed the gathering and inspired students to uphold constitutional values, respect knowledge, and strive for excellence in all walks of life.

Adding to the festive spirit, students brought yellow-coloured sweets to celebrate Basant Panchami and enjoyed a tricolour lunch, symbolising national pride and unity.

A special highlight of the celebration was the visit of 45 personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The flag hoisting ceremony was conducted in their presence, followed by their powerful and patriotic recitation of “Vande Mataram.” Sweets were distributed to mark the joyous occasion, spreading happiness among students and staff alike.

The programme concluded on a patriotic and spiritual note, making the joint celebration of Republic Day and Basant Panchami a meaningful, educational, and memorable experience for the entire school community.
