RABINDRANATH TAGORE JAYANTI CELEBRATIONS

Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, commemorated Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti on Wednesday, 07 May 2025, through a series of meaningful literary and creative activities designed to reflect and uphold the values championed by the Nobel Laureate—peace, fearlessness, compassion, and human unity.
The theme for this year’s celebration, ‘Visions of Tagore: Peace, Fearlessness, and Human Values’, was thoughtfully woven into a variety of class-specific activities. Students of Classes VI to VIII took part in a heart-warming activity entitled Tagore’s Wish Tree, where they wrote their hopes for a better world on leaf-shaped cut-outs, accompanied by brief reflections on the significance of their wishes.
Meanwhile, students from Classes IX to XII participated in a Poem Writing Activity, crafting original verses inspired by Tagore’s iconic poem “Where the mind is without fear…”. These poems captured the spirit of courage, harmony, and human dignity.
To visually enhance the occasion, the Art Department created a beautifully curated centrepiece, which was displayed in the Reception Area, adding an artistic dimension to the celebration.
The day’s events eloquently echoed Tagore’s ideals and served to inspire students to grow into thoughtful, creative, and empathetic individuals, carrying forward his timeless vision of a better world.
