International Yoga Day 2025 with Enthusiasm and Unity

Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 on Saturday, 21 June 2025, with immense zeal and a deep sense of togetherness. The event was a harmonious blend of physical, mental, and spiritual wellness, aligning with this year’s global theme—‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’. This theme beautifully emphasized the profound connection between individual well-being and the health of our planet, underlining yoga’s power to foster holistic living and environmental mindfulness.

The celebration commenced with a warm welcome address by Capt Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal, Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, who spoke about the significance of yoga as a timeless practice rooted in India’s ancient tradition and its relevance in the modern world. She highlighted how yoga nurtures not just the body and mind, but also cultivates a deeper sense of harmony with nature.

A mass yoga session followed, led by trained yoga disciples under the able guidance of the school’s Yoga Instructor. The school ground echoed with calm and focus as students, teachers, and parents came together to perform a series of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and guided meditation techniques. Each posture was demonstrated with clarity and performed with great discipline and enthusiasm, reflecting the spirit of collective wellness and inner peace.

The session culminated with the chanting of the ‘Shanti Path’, invoking peace and serenity in every heart. A collective pledge was also taken by all participants to integrate yoga into their daily lives, embracing it as a way of living rather than just a physical exercise.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Head of the Sports Department, expressing gratitude to all participants, volunteers, instructors, and school leadership for making the event a resounding success. The celebration left everyone rejuvenated, inspired, and more connected—with themselves, each other, and the world around them.
