DELHI STUDENT SHINES AT NATIONAL GRAPPLING CHAMPIONSHIP

New Delhi, June 2026: Bringing laurels to both the school and the nation, Abdullah Numair Ahmed, a Class XII 2026 pass-out batch of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, delivered an exceptional performance at the 19th GFI National Grappling Championship held in Guwahati, Assam, from May 28–31 .
Competing in the Under-17 Heavyweight category, Abdullah secured a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal, successfully defending his national title and emerging as a two-time consecutive National Champion. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, he continued to compete despite sustaining an ankle injury in his opening bout and went on to achieve victory through submission wins.
The championship witnessed participation from nearly 2,000 athletes across 28 states, making his achievement highly commendable. Abdullah has consistently excelled at state and national levels and has previously represented India at the South Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship.
The school takes immense pride in his achievement, which stands as an inspiration for aspiring sportspersons and reflects the spirit of perseverance, discipline, and excellence.
