Capacity Building Programme Science Secondary - Strengthening Pedagogy for Effective Learning and Assessment
A two-day Capacity Building Programme on Lesson Planning and Assessment Strategies at the Secondary Level was organised by CBSE on Friday, 23 January 2026, and Saturday, 24 January 2026. The programme aimed at strengthening teachers’ pedagogical practices and enhancing their assessment skills. The workshop provided valuable insights into effective lesson planning aligned with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF SE 2023).
Ms. Neeraj Vohra, one of the resource persons, emphasised the importance of clearly defined learning objectives in Science. She highlighted that lesson planning should be firmly rooted in the aims and learning outcomes prescribed in the NCF SE 2023. Bloom’s Taxonomy was explained in detail, with a focus on its various cognitive levels and the appropriate use of taxonomy-based action verbs while framing learning outcomes and question papers. Participants were encouraged to ensure a balanced representation of different cognitive levels in assessments.
Mr. Narender Kumar, the second resource person, discussed various assessment techniques, stressing that assessment criteria and rubrics should be designed prior to setting question papers. He highlighted the importance of transparent evaluation methods and advocated the use of competency-based questions to assess conceptual understanding, application, and higher-order thinking skills.
The workshop proved to be informative and enriching, equipping teachers with practical strategies to design effective assessments and prepare students to confidently face challenging and competency-based examinations.


Teaching All Students How to Learn
A masterclass on ‘Teaching All Students How to Learn’ was organised by Vasant Valley School, Vasant Kunj, Delhi, on Monday, 12 January 2026, and was attended by Smt. Monia Saini (TGT Science). The session was led by Mr. Leo Thompson, the resource person.
The session focused on inclusive teaching practices, personalised learning, and innovative pedagogical approaches aimed at enhancing student learning outcomes. Important concepts such as neuroplasticity and the Pygmalion effect were discussed, emphasising that students’ abilities can be developed over time and that teachers’ expectations significantly influence learner performance.
Special emphasis was laid on nurturing self-regulation and promoting lifelong learning through the use of metacognitive strategies. Practices such as thinking journals and self-assessment were highlighted as effective tools to help students reflect on their learning and become more aware of their strengths and areas for improvement.
The session also underscored the importance of fostering a growth mindset and creating supportive classroom environments where students feel encouraged to set goals, seek constructive feedback, and learn strategically. A key takeaway from the masterclass was the shift from reliance on external controls to the development of internal learning strategies, leading to sustained success.

Biometric Security - Securing Identity in a Digital World
A webinar titled ‘Biometric Security’ was conducted on Friday, 17 January 2026, by ETMA and was attended by Smt. Shalini Raheja (TGT Science) and Ms. Deeksha Mehra (PRT). The session focused on critical issues related to data privacy, biometric authentication, and digital security. The webinar was conducted by Dr. Surbhi Garg, Research Scientist at TCS, who shared valuable insights into the application of cryptology for securing biometric data.
The webinar highlighted recent data leak concerns involving platforms such as IRCTC and Aadhaar, drawing attention to privacy risks associated with large-scale biometric databases. Dr. Garg explained vulnerabilities across the biometric authentication pipeline, including sensor-level spoofing attacks and threats related to database storage and data modification.
The session also discussed the relevance of regulatory frameworks such as the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, particularly in the context of increasing digitalisation and artificial intelligence–driven risks. In addition, emerging research opportunities were outlined, including the use of deep learning in biometric security, privacy-enhancing techniques such as differential privacy, and the development of large-scale cancellable multi-biometric systems.
It was emphasised that although existing biometric systems demonstrate high recognition performance, they often face challenges related to security and efficiency. The webinar provided meaningful insights into contemporary cybersecurity challenges and underscored the importance of safeguarding personal as well as national data systems in the digital age.


CBSE Workshop on Disaster Management( Prepared Today, Safe Tomorrow)
On Monday, 12 January 2026, a CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Disaster Management was conducted for teachers. The workshop was led by the esteemed resource persons Dr. Mahendra Singh Vashisht, Principal of St. Brij Mohan Lal Senior Secondary School, Faridabad, and Smt. Sheetal Kapoor, Headmistress of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar. The programme began with a serene Saraswati Vandana, setting a positive tone for the sessions.
The programme familiarised teachers with the concept of disaster management, types of disasters, and the Disaster Management Cycle. Emphasis was laid on the importance of preparedness in schools, risk assessment, and effective communication during emergencies.
Teachers were guided on preparing a School Disaster Management Plan (SDMP), including hazard identification, SOPs, mock drills, and the formation of a School Disaster Management Committee. The role of teachers during emergencies, student safety, evacuation procedures, and the importance of regular training were also discussed.
The workshop included practical sessions on basic life support, CPR, and first aid, along with case studies to handle real-life emergency situations. The final session focused on post-disaster care, highlighting emotional support and counselling to help students cope with trauma.
Overall, the programme was highly informative and empowering, equipping teachers with essential skills to ensure a safe and resilient school environment. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource persons and organisers.

Competency-Based Assessment (Secondary Level English)
Smt. Chetna Verma and Smt. Ritu Bajaj, TGT English, attended a two-day Capacity Building Programme on Competency-Based Assessment (Secondary Level English) held on Friday and Saturday, 06 and 07 December 2025. The workshop was organised by CBSE at JBM Global School, Noida, and was led by the resource person Ms. Rekha Pachauri.
The programme opened with an insightful session on mental health, where Ms. Pachauri highlighted the importance of emotional well-being. She shared practical strategies such as mindful pauses, deep breathing, positive communication, and maintaining healthy boundaries. The conversation further explored how thoughtful and well-designed assessments can help reduce student anxiety.
The second day followed a more hands-on, collaborative approach. Teachers engaged in interactive tasks on framing effective MCQs and FRQs, developing higher-order questions, and creating student-centric evaluation tools. Participants also deepened their understanding of Bloom’s Taxonomy, 21st-century skills, and rubric-based evaluation.
Overall, the two-day workshop offered meaningful learning experiences, practical strategies, and enriching discussions that strengthened teachers’ understanding of effective, reliable, and competency-based assessment practices.

Competency-Based Assessment (Secondary Level Mathematics)
Shri Satish Kumar, PGT Mathematics, attended a two-day Capacity Building Programme on Competency-Based Assessment (Secondary Level Mathematics) organised by CBSE at Pragyan Public School, Jewar, Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, on 3rd and 4th December 2025. The sessions were facilitated by the resource persons Dr. Deepti Sharma and Mr. Vipin Kumar.
The programme emphasised effective strategies for developing competency-based questions, assessments, and evaluation techniques. The resource persons elaborated on Bloom’s Taxonomy and demonstrated how 21st-century skills can be integrated to strengthen competency-based assessment practices.
Participants engaged in interactive tasks on applying Bloom’s Taxonomy, designing well-structured MCQs and FRQs, and framing higher-order thinking questions. The workshop provided practical insights into making classroom assessments more analytical, meaningful, and student-centric.


Webinar on ‘AI in K-12 Education: In Search of a Framework of Transforming Pedagogy’
On Saturday, 13 December 2025, Smt. Ritu Vaid (PRT English) and Ms Manvi Shukla (TGT Social Science) attended a webinar titled “AI in K–12 Education: In Search of a Framework of Transforming Pedagogy”, organised by Educational Technology and Management Academy, New Delhi. Dr Mrinal Mukherjee, Ph.D., Department of Teacher Education, Babasaheb Ambedkar Education University, Kolkata conducted the webinar wherein he provided valuable insights into the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in school education and its shift towards Education 5.0.
Dr Mukherjee emphasised how AI is redefining teacher–student roles, transforming assessment practices, and necessitating new digital and AI literacies, while firmly placing ethics and human values at the core of pedagogy. He highlighted the importance of viewing AI as a cognitive partner rather than a replacement for human intellect. In his concluding remarks, Prof. Marmar Mukhopadhyay, Director of Educational Technology and Management Academy, New Delhi observed that although the teacher’s role may appear diminished in an AI-driven world, it is by no means replaceable. He stressed that teachers must focus on guiding learners in interpreting information rather than merely providing it.


Adobe Workshop on Designing Formative Assessments and Holiday Assignments (CDP-4)
A professional development workshop on Designing Formative Assessments and Holiday Assignments was conducted on Friday, 14 November 2025, by Ms. Deepshikha Arora from Adobe for the entire teaching staff. The session focused on strengthening teachers’ understanding of formative assessments and guiding them in creating purposeful, engaging, and skill-based holiday assignments. Ms. Arora explained formative assessments as ongoing learning checkpoints and highlighted key qualities such as alignment with learning objectives, clarity, competency-based tasks, and constructive feedback. Teachers were introduced to Adobe Express, exploring templates, multimedia features, and design strategies for creating interactive assessment materials. Collaborative activities allowed teachers to design sample tasks and reflect on existing practices. The workshop enhanced teachers’ ability to plan meaningful assessments, integrate digital tools, and promote student-centric learning.

Capacity Building Programme of Elementary Science
Smt. Preeti Singla, PRT Science, attended the Capacity Building Programme for Elementary Science held on Saturday, 29 October 2025 at Ambience Public School, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi. The workshop was conducted by resource persons Dr. Sudha Sharma (RPVV School of Excellence, DOE-Dwarka) and Ms. Sangeeta Bhowmick (Father Agnel School). The session began with warm introductions, creating a positive and collaborative atmosphere. Ms. Bhowmick led the first session on students’ mental health, addressing the emotional challenges faced by learners and emphasizing the teacher’s role in identifying stress and fostering a supportive environment. Dr. Sudha Sharma conducted the second session, providing a clear overview of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and its alignment with NEP 2020, highlighting competency-based and experiential learning. Teachers then engaged in group activities such as creating science acronyms, designing innovative models, and preparing lesson plans. The workshop concluded with group presentations, making the programme enriching and pedagogically valuable.

Capacity Building Programme on Elementary Mathematics
‘Bringing Joy, Culture, and Creativity into Mathematics Learning’
Ms Fouzia (PRT Mathematics) and Ms Prerna Gulati (TGT Mathematics) attended a two-day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Elementary Mathematics, organised by CBSE on Wednesday, 08 October 2025, and Thursday, 09 October 2025, at MNB Modern School, Shiv Vihar. The programme aimed to equip teachers with innovative pedagogical practices that promote experiential and competency-based learning. It sought to make the teaching of mathematics more engaging, meaningful, and relevant to real-life situations.
Day 1: Building Strong Foundations Through Experience
The first day focused on strengthening foundational numeracy and introducing hands-on learning strategies. The sessions began with an engaging ice-breaking activity, followed by insightful discussions on pre-number concepts, number operations, and spatial understanding.
Dr Rajesh Thakur, Assistant Professor at SCERT, emphasised the importance of linking mathematics to India’s rich cultural heritage, using examples such as monuments, traditional games, and stories of renowned Indian mathematicians.
In the post-lunch session, Ms Shaily Choudhary, Mathematics Educator, conducted practical demonstrations using mathematical kits and graph paper. She guided participants through the creation of games, puzzles, and Tarsia activities, aimed at reinforcing key classroom concepts in a playful and interactive manner.
Day 2: Encouraging Critical Thinking and Conceptual Clarity
The second day centred around problem-solving and developing critical thinking skills to deepen conceptual understanding.
Dr Rajesh introduced advanced mathematical ideas such as the Chinese Remainder Theorem, Vedic Mathematics, and the Pigeonhole Principle, sparking curiosity and deeper reflection among participants.
Ms Shaily presented strategies like the Frayer Model, Math Pictionary, and Word Walls to enhance mathematical vocabulary and conceptual clarity. She also highlighted the role of effective questioning techniques and assessment strategies in creating a dynamic and student-centred classroom environment.

Online Session CPD-3: Socio-Emotional Learning in the Classroom Using Adobe Express
On Saturday 27 September 2025, the faculty teachers of the school attended the online professional development session CPD-3: Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL) in the Classroom Using Adobe Express. The session aimed to deepen understanding of SEL core competencies and explore the role of digital creativity in fostering emotional intelligence among students.
Participants learned to design digital storytelling projects and reflective journals to encourage emotional expression, as well as how to utilise creative tools to enhance student collaboration and relationship-building. The session included a hands-on activity and a quiz to reinforce learning outcomes.

Webinar on Cybersecurity in the Age of AI – 27 September 2025
On Saturday, 27 September 2025, ETMA hosted a webinar on Cybersecurity in the Age of AI. Representing the school, Smt Monika Vaid (PRT) and Smt Indu Sikri (PGT English) attended the webinar, gaining an inspiring and thought-provoking learning experience.
The session was conducted by Prof A. S. N. Chakravarthy from JNTU Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, who spoke passionately about the increasing influence of Artificial Intelligence on digital life. He highlighted that while AI offers numerous opportunities, it also introduces new security risks, emphasising the importance of developing smarter protective systems.
Using real-life examples and practical insights, Prof Chakravarthy kept the audience engaged throughout the session. Participants found the discussion both enlightening and highly relevant.

Training Session on POCSO and POSH Acts
A training session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act was conducted on Saturday, 27 September 2025 for the teaching staff by Ms Janhavi Singh, Advocate and Child Protection Specialist. The session familiarised participants with the key provisions of the POCSO Act 2012, the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, and the POSH Act 2013, covering offences, reporting mechanisms and preventive measures.
The discussion emphasised the subjectivity of perception, urging staff to respond with sensitivity, objectivity and empathy while addressing concerns. It was also highlighted that the POSH Act safeguards the dignity and rights of all individuals in the workplace, not only women.
The session reinforced the collective responsibility of staff in fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.

Turning Lessons into Unforgettable Stories
The ECD Team had the opportunity to participate in an online webinar on ‘Creative Classrooms: Turn Lessons into Unforgettable Stories’ conducted by Ms Nupur Aggarwal, author, storyteller and trainer, on Monday, 22 September 2025.
The session highlighted the power of storytelling in education and its role in making classroom learning engaging and impactful. Practical strategies for integrating storytelling into subjects such as Mathematics, Science and other disciplines were shared, offering teachers effective tools to enrich their lessons.
It was an insightful and enriching experience that deepened the team’s understanding of how creativity and imagination can be harnessed to make learning memorable for pupils. The participants also received e-certificates for the session, which will be counted under Domain 2 Non-CBSE training.

On Sunday, 21 September 2025, Smt. Preeti Singla, along with Smt. Neha Kohli, attended an insightful online webinar organised by The Pedagogy Community on Competency-Based Teaching of Science Aligned with NEP 2020.
The resource person, Ms. Vamsheepriya Amar, emphasised a shift from traditional teaching methods to personalised and competency-based approaches. She highlighted that learners acquire knowledge at different paces, possess varied skill levels, and benefit from opportunities to learn both inside and outside the classroom. Saturday, 20 September 2025, saw the IT department, along with other staff members, attend an online webinar on ‘Transforming Lesson Plans into Interactive Learning with AI’ (using NEP 2020). The session introduced a range of AI tools designed to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Participants explored tools such as MagicSchool AI for lesson plans and assessments, Gamma AI for interactive presentations, Google NotebookLM for organising and summarising content, and Canva AI for designing engaging teaching materials, among others. The webinar demonstrated how these technologies can help teachers create interactive, personalised, and efficient learning experiences while significantly reducing preparation time.
The session proved highly informative, offering valuable insights into integrating AI into classroom practices and inspiring educators to leverage technology to make teaching more engaging and impactful.

Unlocking Young Minds for Holistic Growth
A two-day online workshop on Child Psychology was organised by Safety Troop on the theme ‘Unlock the Mind of a Child’ on Thursday, 18 September, and Friday, 19 September 2025. The sessions were attended by Smt. Anjali Malik along with Smt. Seema Rana, Smt. Sarvpriya, Smt. Deeksha Mehra, Ms. Rahila, Ms. Shefali, and Ms. Bhanvi.
The workshop offered valuable insights into child development milestones and introduced participants to significant psychological theories. Expert resource persons emphasised practical strategies for addressing behavioural concerns both through classroom practices and counselling-based interventions. The discussions highlighted how teachers and counsellors can create nurturing environments that support emotional well-being, positive behaviour, and academic progress.

Celebrating India’s Artistic Legacy Across the Globe
On Thursday, 18 September 2025, Souherdyo Das, PGT (Art), attended a workshop on Indian Art and Culture organised at Salwan Public School, Gurugram. The session was conducted by eminent art historian and filmmaker, Professor Benoy K. Behl, renowned for his extensive research and documentation of Indian heritage across the globe.
The workshop offered a captivating journey into India’s artistic traditions and their influence worldwide. Professor Behl’s lectures and presentations highlighted the splendour of Buddhist art, the assimilation of Hindu deities, and the adoption of Sanskrit scripts in the daily rituals of Japanese temples. Participants were spellbound by the depth of knowledge and the global perspective shared.
The session began with an engaging exploration of the Ajanta mural paintings and culminated with insights into the intricacies of Pahari miniature art. An interactive question-answer segment added to the enriching experience, leaving both teachers and students inspired by India’s cultural legacy.

Empowering Schools to Lead the Way in Creating Safe and Inclusive Digital Spaces
Capt. Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal & Smt. Neelima Goel, TGT Computer Science, attended a UNESCO–PLAN International webinar on Schools as Engines of Online Violence Prevention and Response on Wednesday, 17 September 2025. The session highlighted the significant role schools can play in preventing both online and offline bullying through structured programmes and integrated approaches.
Speakers stressed the importance of developing empathy, socio-emotional skills, and digital literacy among students to create safe and inclusive environments. Youth participation was recognised as a powerful tool, with peer-led initiatives proving highly effective in addressing online violence. The session also showcased innovative strategies such as reporting systems and virtual reality simulations, alongside the essential roles of teacher training and community collaboration.
The webinar concluded with a strong message that schools, when empowered with the right resources and support, can serve as engines of change in preventing online violence and nurturing responsible digital citizenship.

Online Workshop on AI in Academic Research: Tools,Trends and Transformation
An online workshop on ‘AI in Academic Research: Tools, Trends, and Transformation’, organised by the Educational Technology and Management Academy (ETMA) on Saturday, 13th September 2025, was attended by Smt. Shalini Singh, PRT Hindi, and Smt. Seema Nagpal, PGT Physics.
The session was conducted by Dr. Ujjal Marjit, Head of the Centre for Information Resource Management, University of Kalyani. He offered a comprehensive overview of Generative AI, Large Language Models, and the importance of prompt engineering. Dr. Marjit also introduced advanced tools for literature review, academic writing, and visualisation, such as Research Rabbit, Connected Papers, Napkin, and Writefull.
The session further underscored ethical considerations, including AI hallucinations, the role of critical thinking, and the necessity of declaring AI usage. Overall, the workshop proved to be highly insightful and significantly deepened understanding of the responsible use of AI in research.
In conclusion, AI must remain a tool in our hands, not the master of our thoughts. It may assist us, but it should never replace our originality, reflection, or creativity.

Online Workshop on Effective Teaching Strategies
The Mathematics Department attended an online workshop on ‘Effective Teaching Strategies in Mathematics’ on Friday, 12 September 2025, conducted by Ms Dimple Kathpalia on Zoom. The session focused on making mathematics engaging, practical, and student-friendly.
Ms Dimple employed creative analogies and real-life stories to emphasise the importance of critical thinking and application in mathematics. She shared effective strategies such as activity-based learning with manipulatives, technology integration, real-life connections, collaborative and inquiry-based tasks, gamification, differentiated instruction, and assessment integration.
The workshop concluded with demonstrations in trigonometry and arithmetic progressions, reinforcing the idea that effective teaching combines clarity, creativity, and application. The session was highly insightful and enhanced approaches to classroom practice.

CBP Workshop on Competency-Based Assessment for Secondary Level Science
Two TGT Science teachers of the school, Smt. Monia Saini and Smt. Shalini Raheja attended a two-day Capacity Building Programme on Competency-Based Assessment for Secondary Level Science, on 10 and 11 September 2025. The workshop was conducted by CBSE Resource persons- Dr. Veena Mishra and Ms. Neetu Jhatta.
The workshop offered valuable insights into designing and implementing competency-based assessments in science education. It enabled the participants to gain a deeper understanding of the framework and its application in classroom practices. The resource persons shared practical strategies and best practices, equipping teachers with effective tools to enhance both teaching and assessment methods.

Kids for Tigers Workshop
The Kids for Tigers workshop was held at Springdales School, Pusa Road, on 9 September 2025. Smt. Shalini Raheja and Smt. Trapti Gupta, both TGT Science teachers of the school, attended the programme. The annual event, organised by KFT, acquaints schools with their year-round initiatives designed to engage students in wildlife conservation and environmental awareness. Our school has been an active participant in these endeavours, with students winning several prizes at the previous year’s KFT Fest.
This year’s workshop was conducted by Mr Rakesh Khatri, popularly known as the Nestman of India. An environmentalist and filmmaker, he is renowned for creating eco-friendly nests from materials such as wood, cloth, and jute, providing shelter for sparrows and other urban birds. He highlighted the importance of involving young learners in conservation practices to restore habitats and promote coexistence with avian species. Mr Neeraj Mittra, an eminent artist and conservationist, also addressed the participants, sharing his insights on wildlife protection and environmental education.

CBSE Workshop on Mental Health and Wellness
A workshop on Mental Health and Wellness was held at Lovely Public School, Priyadarshini Vihar, on Tuesday, 09 September 2025. The event was attended by three faculty members of the school-Smt. The session focused on the critical importance of mental health, covering topics like stress management and emotional well-being. Ms. Gupta and Dr. Abha offered valuable insights and practical guidance on how to maintain a healthy mindset, build resilience, and cope with anxiety in daily life.
The workshop highlighted several crucial aspects of mental wellness, emphasising the importance of recognising and managing stress triggers. It also stressed upon the value of practising mindfulness and self-care as essential routines for daily well-being. Attendees learned about the need to build positive relationships and strong support networks and how to develop emotional intelligence and self-awareness to better understand their own feelings and the feelings of others.
Attendees took part in interactive activities, openly discussing their personal experiences and concerns. The workshop wrapped up with a Question & Answer session that provided clear, helpful answers to a range of mental health queries. Overall, the workshop was a great success and had a significant, positive impact on everyone who attended.

National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023
Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, hosted the CBSE Professional Development Workshop on Saturday, 06 September 2025, focusing on the theme ‘National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023’ (NCF 2023). The workshop was graced by two eminent educationists — Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd), Principal of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, and Ms. Malini Narayanan, an accomplished school leader and CBSE resource person. Both speakers provided enriching insights into the paradigm shift envisaged in NCF 2023, underlining its emphasis on competency-based education, holistic development of learners, and the integration of co-scholastic areas. The sessions highlighted subject-specific approaches, wherein teachers explored curriculum design, innovative pedagogical practices, and modern assessment methods prescribed in NCF 2023. The focus was on moving away from rote memorisation towards critical thinking, creativity, and the application of knowledge in real-life contexts.
The session commenced with an address by Ms. Malini Narayanan, who emphasised the vital role of mental health in ensuring the overall success of education. She stated that emotional resilience and psychological balance are essential for both students and teachers, without which academic achievement remains incomplete. Issues such as stress, anxiety, and performance-related pressures were identified as key concerns in schools today. She suggested strategies such as mindfulness, structured routines, supportive peer networks, and nurturing classroom environments as practical ways to strengthen mental well-being. This session laid the foundation for linking mental health with holistic learning.
Session 1: Familiarisation with NCF SE 2023
The session, led by Capt Richa Katyal (Retd), was both engaging and enlightening. She began by explaining the significance of the NCF and the NEP, and the differences between the two. She then outlined the distinctions between knowledge, capacities, values and dispositions in a clear and relatable manner. Participants explored the aims of school education, including rational thought, well-being, democratic participation and cultural contribution. Through interactive exercises, she encouraged reflection on the characteristics of an effective curriculum and its role in shaping holistic education. A historical overview of earlier NCFs (1975, 1988, 2000 and 2005) provided valuable context for understanding the evolution towards NCF-SE 2023.
Session 2: Stage-Specific Recommendations
The second session focused on the stage-wise recommendations of NCF-SE 2023, showing progression across the Foundational, Preparatory, Middle and Secondary stages. Participants worked in groups to analyse implementation challenges and to suggest strategies for smooth transitions. The session explained the framework’s learner-centred, flexible and competency-based approaches, along with the importance of teacher empowerment and the integration of technology.
Session 3: School Subject Areas and Cross-Cutting Themes
The third session focused on subject-specific goals across languages, mathematics, science, social sciences, arts, physical education and vocational education. Participants reviewed exemplar learning standards and worked in groups to define competencies, learning outcomes, pedagogy and assessment practices. The exercise showed the importance of balanced subject offerings, holistic development and innovative teaching methods in preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.
Session 4: Cross-Cutting Themes
The fourth session focused on values education, inclusivity, ICT integration, guidance and counselling, environmental awareness and rootedness in India. Through reflective tasks and discussions, participants considered how values and dispositions can be nurtured in schools, strategies for managing diverse classrooms, and the role of ICT in improving learning. Special attention was given to socio-economic, cultural and gender inclusivity as key elements of equitable education.



Orientation Session on SWAYAM MOOC
Teachers of Classes XI and XII of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, participated in an orientation session on SWAYAM Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) on Saturday, 30 August 2025 in the Senior Computer Lab.
Conducted by Smt. Neelima Goel, TGT Computer Science, the session guided teachers through registration, course selection, and assessment procedures, while also suggesting strategies to integrate MOOCs into classroom teaching.
The interactive forum concluded with teachers sharing reflections and queries. The session proved insightful, equipping educators to extend learning opportunities to students through the vast academic resources of SWAYAM.

Project MATE – Empowering Schools for Student Well-being
At AIIMS, New Delhi, from Monday to Friday, 26–30 August 2025, Dr Preeti Jain, School Counsellor, SPSMV, attended the Project MATE (Mind Activation through Education) Programme organised by CBSE in collaboration with AIIMS.
Each day of the five-day workshop focused on a specific theme ranging from foundational mental health concepts and emotional regulation to digital well-being, peer support, and implementation strategies. Leading psychiatrists and psychologists shared evidence-based practices and models such as MATE-5.
The programme reaffirmed that emotional well-being is a cornerstone of education, equipping participants with strategies to integrate empathy, resilience, and holistic wellness into school systems.

Skills to Careers: Skilling Today, Leading Tomorrow
The CBSE Headquarters in Dwarka hosted the initiative Skills to Careers: Skilling Today, Leading Tomorrow on Friday, 29 August 2025, attended by Smt. Sujata Verma from Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar.
Organised in collaboration with IBM under the 1M1B programme, the event introduced Sustainability-based Tinkering Labs and featured AI-powered projects by schools across Delhi. A panel discussion explored how artificial intelligence is shaping future career opportunities, while a masterclass encouraged schools to serve as problem-solving hubs.

Capacity Building Programme on Economics
A two-day Capacity Building Programme on Economics, organised by the CBSE Centre of Excellence at IP Extension, was attended by Ms Ravneet Kaur, PGT Economics of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, on Tuesday, 26 August and Wednesday, 27 August 2025.
Conducted by Dr Priyanka Bhattacharjee and Mrs Aradhana Sharma, the sessions explored effective teaching strategies under the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE), Bloom’s Taxonomy, career guidance, and the use of AI tools in classrooms. Teachers also engaged in collaborative lesson planning and question paper design.

Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future: Green Skills@2047
At UN India, New Delhi, on Tuesday, 26 August 2025, Smt. Pooja Dhingra, PGT Computer Science, and Smt. Neelima, TGT Computer Science, from Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, attended the event Green Skills@2047 – Celebrating Youth Green Action Leveraging AI.
The session highlighted the role of youth in advancing the Paris Agreement’s climate targets, particularly the reduction of 19 gigatons of CO₂ by 2030. Key initiatives included the Green Internship Programme, which aims to create thousands of opportunities for students, and the showcasing of innovations such as DumpSense, GreenieChat, EcoRover, and Smart Grids.

An insightful webinar organised by the Educational Technology and Management Academy was attended by Smt. Sunyana Nijhara, PRT Mathematics, and Sh. Sunil Choudhary, PGT Physical Education of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, on Friday, 22 August 2025.
Dr Arunima Naithani, an independent researcher, highlighted the need to integrate Indigenous and Western knowledge systems. She explained that Indigenous knowledge is holistic, ecological, and intergenerational, while Western frameworks are more empirical and data-driven. Emphasis was laid on five guiding principles—respect, relevance, reciprocity, responsibility, and equity—for achieving balance between the two systems.
The session stressed policy reforms, recognition of Indigenous intellectual property, and the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives in education. It concluded with the vision that bridging both systems could lead to justice, sustainability, and innovation in global knowledge.

Capacity Building Programme in Biology
The CBSE organised a two-day Capacity Building Programme in Biology for Class XII teachers on 07 and 08 August 2025. Smt. Bhaskar Valli, PGT-Science, attended the workshop. The sessions were facilitated by Mrs. Nivedita Naithani (Venkateshwar International School, Dwarka) and Ms. Neetu Jhatta (Wishwood Cottage School), who shared their expertise through innovative teaching strategies.
Day One focused on teaching methodologies, covering 20th- and 21st-century paradigms, learning outcomes, and approaches to critical and creative thinking. Participants explored Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction, engaged in collaborative activities, and designed lesson plans using structured templates. The steps involved in conducting Biology projects were also discussed.
Day Two emphasised the theory of Multiple Intelligences, introducing strategies and activities to address diverse learner profiles. The concept of intelligence stations along with techniques of linear and branched programmed learning were demonstrated and practised.

Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, hosted a CBSE Continuous Professional Development Workshop on the theme ‘Promoting Mental Health and Wellness Among Students’ on Saturday, 26 July 2025. The workshop brought together educators for a day of meaningful engagement, collaborative learning and reflection on the vital role of mental well-being in the school environment.
The sessions were facilitated by resource persons Capt. Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, and Ms. Sutekshna Sharma, TGT Biology at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya. A training session on CBSE’s newly introduced Two-Exam Policy for Class X, effective from 2026, was conducted on 05 July 2025 by Smt. Bhawna Puri, Vice Principal, SPSMV. The session was organised to apprise teachers of Classes IX to XII of the key highlights and implications of the revised policy.
The discussion encompassed various aspects of the policy, including CBSE’s decision, general conditions, eligibility criteria, syllabus, internal assessment, examination pattern, scheduled exam months, result declaration process, post-result provisions, and the procedure for admission to Class XI.
The session further shed light on the broader impact of the policy on school functioning, academic planning, and execution.
It concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, during which teachers’ queries were addressed and clarified.

Smt. Anjali Malik and Smt. Neha Kohli attended an insightful webinar organised by ETMA in collaboration with the Academics Team of Seth M. R. Jaipuria Schools. The session, titled “Education 5.0: Aligning Pedagogy with the Age of Intelligence,” focused on the evolving role of education in a rapidly advancing, AI-driven world.
Led by Mr. Arijit Ghosh, the session delved into how the education system must adapt to nurture not only intellectual capabilities but also emotional and ethical growth. He introduced the transformative framework of the three spheres of Education 5.0:

In addition, the session covered the creation of digital academic calendars to streamline scheduling, track school events, and encourage student participation. Teachers were guided through various templates and creative features, promoting the use of visual elements in everyday planning. The training emphasised how adopting these tools can save time, improve organisation, and bring creativity into classroom practices. The session was engaging and hands-on, providing participants with valuable insights into the integration of technology in teaching. It empowered educators to adopt innovative approaches for a more organised and effective learning environment.

Capacity building programs for the teachers teaching ‘Information Technology’
The CBSE’s Department of Skill Education organised a training program for teachers teaching Information Technology (Sub. Code – 402) as a Skill Subject in CBSE-affiliated schools across India. The training aimed to enhance educators’ proficiency in delivering IT education effectively. In the online inauguration of the session, Sh. Vishwjeet Saha, Director of Skill and Training at CBSE, welcomed all the teachers and emphasised the importance of skill subjects in NCERF.

HELP program by Heartfulness Education Trust
The Heartfulness Workshop for teachers, spearheaded by Mr. Gyan Sareen, Director of Heartfulness, marked a significant stride in nurturing the holistic development of students in classes XI and XII at SPS Tronica. The initiative, attended by educators from all schools within the Salwan Education Trust, was a collective endeavour towards fostering emotional well-being among students. Mr. Sareen’s introduction of the program highlighted its pivotal role in cultivating essential virtues such as calmness and patience.
The workshop emphasised on empowering students to find balance in their lives, enabling them to navigate challenges with resilience and equanimity. By equipping students with these vital life skills, they are better poised to set meaningful goals and make informed decisions that align with their aspirations.

Training Programme for Skill Course ‘Horticulture (816)
On Tuesday, 15 May 2024, Smt. Sunita Madan
(Principal SPS Tronica) and Smt. Jyotsna Nagpal (TGT Science, SPS Tronica) addressed
the importance of horticulture in education. Horticulture, defined as the art
and science of growing plants, plays a crucial role in fostering an
appreciation for the environment, developing practical skills, and promoting a
healthy lifestyle and sustainability.

B.ED to B.EL.ED- Bridge Course
On Thursday, May 16, 2024, a workshop titled ‘B.ED to B.EL.ED – bridge course’ was conducted. Ms. Sheetal Sethi Kapoor, the resource person, initiated the session by comparing B.ED and B.EL.ED. Beginning with a brief history of Mathematics, she introduced ELPS teaching methods.
Teachers were then organised into groups to engage in an interactive activity. Within these groups, leaders were designated, and specific topics were allocated for discussion. Notably, one group showcased a teaching strategy centered on Division, offering practical insights into effective pedagogical approaches. Throughout the workshop, there was a pronounced emphasis on infusing playfulness into the teaching of mathematics. This was exemplified by the engagement in a game of Ludo, serving as a medium to illustrate mathematical concepts in an interactive and enjoyable manner.

Continuous Professional Development for Leaders
In today’s fast-paced world, effective leadership demands more than just authority—it requires empathy, understanding, and impeccable communication skills, especially in high-stakes scenarios. The workshop aimed to equip leaders with the tools to navigate such challenges adeptly. Heartful listening entails really listening to someone with care and interest. It’s an important part of being a good leader.
Capacity Building Program for TGTs
The session opened with a welcome address by Smt. Vaishali of SPS Gurugram . Dr Atul Nischal, the keynote speaker, emphasised on the importance of assessment and evaluation in the educational process. Smt. Sunita Jhakhar, Vice Principal of SPS Gurugram welcomed him with a warm and welcoming speech. She expressed her hopes for a productive day of learning under the expert guidance of the esteemed mentors. She also encouraged all participants to absorb the valuable knowledge and follow the guided instructions for skill development.

SAFAL Training by CBSE
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently conducted training sessions on its new initiative, SAFAL (Student’s Assessment for Analyzing Learning Levels). SAFAL is an assessment program aimed at students in classes V and VIII, designed to evaluate their learning levels comprehensively.

‘Consequences of Doping: Legal, Mental and Societal’
The webinar was hosted by the NADA India association in partnership with NCERT. The guest speaker, Dr. Rajinder K. Dhamija (Director, Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Science), spoke about the role of NADA and WADA in the field of Sports and the awareness programme run by NADA India ‘Fight Against Doping’ to give knowledge about DOPING in the field of Sports.

Workshop: Shaping Future Leaders
Ashoka University’s recent online webinar, held on April 6, 2024, served as a pivotal platform for educators, stakeholders, and students to delve into the critical topic of preparing high school students for an uncertain future. Led by esteemed figures such as Pramath Raj Sinha, the webinar facilitated profound discussions on equipping students with essential skills and mindsets necessary for success in an ever-evolving world. The session was attended by two HoDs from SPSMV, Shri Soyherdeo Das and Smt. Indu Sikri.

CBSE Workshop on ‘Science of Reading’
Reading serves as the cornerstone of education and personal growth, significantly impacting academic success and cognitive development. The National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020 underscores the importance of promoting a reading culture among students to enhance their literacy skills and overall learning outcomes.

Two Days’ Online Training Programme
On Monday, 15 April 2024 and Tuesday, 16 April 2024, a two-day online training program for teachers from schools affiliated with CBSE was organised jointly by CBSE and NCERT. The purpose of this program was to facilitate a seamless transition for teachers and students from old to new textbooks in classes III and VI.

As part of the ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) initiative, SPS Mayur Vihar organized a comprehensive workshop on Accounts and Front Office procedures on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
The Accounts workshop provided in-depth insights into fundamental accounting concepts, addressing key aspects crucial for the effective functioning of the school’s accounting department.
Simultaneously, the Front Office workshop equipped attendees with the essential skills required for the adept management of the front desk. It aimed to empower staff members to handle front office responsibilities with efficiency and professionalism, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the school.
