Workshop on ‘Effects of Climate Change on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services’

Eco Club organised an awareness workshop for Class VI students on the theme ‘Effects of Climate Change on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services’ in collaboration with TERI and the Department of Environment. The session was led by Ms. Yogita Gunwant, a Forestry Master’s graduate from Kumaun University and a TERI intern. She introduced the topic through an informative film and a PPT presentation, supported by pre- and post-questionnaires to assess students’ understanding and learning progress.

A poster-making competition was also conducted, encouraging students to creatively express the impacts of climate change on biodiversity. The three best entries were selected and will be awarded e-certificates.

Through the workshop, students gained valuable insights into climate-induced biodiversity loss, ecosystem services, and the urgent need for conservation. They actively participated in discussions and expressed their commitment to environmental protection. The event concluded with gratitude to TERI and Ms. Gunwant for their engaging and inspiring session, motivating young environmental stewards.
