Internship at CSIR-National Physical Laboratory

Five students of Class XI from Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar successfully completed a two-day internship at the Chemistry Department of CSIR–NPL on Tuesday, 03 June – Wednesday, 04 June 2025, under the mentorship of Dr. Asit Patra.

The programme offered hands-on training in key laboratory techniques, including recrystallisation, rotary evaporation, distillation, thin layer chromatography, centrifugation, pelletizer usage, spin coating, and digital melting point analysis. Students also performed a fun science activity by preparing invisible ink using lemon juice.

The internship enhanced students’ practical skills, scientific thinking, and understanding of real-world applications of chemistry. It served as a valuable bridge between classroom theory and laboratory practice.

At the end of the programme, all participants received Letters of Recommendation in recognition of their active engagement and curiosity. The experience proved to be a significant step in developing experimental competence and a deeper interest in science.
