Story Telling Session

Library Department organised a Storytelling Session for Classes I and II on Wednessday 16th April 2025 conducted by Ms. Usha Chhabra, a well-known storyteller, author, and educator.
During the session, Ms. Chhabra narrated two captivating stories—one about a greedy mouse and another based on the theme of friendship. Through voice modulation, expressive narration, music, and even singing, she transformed the classroom into a world of imagination. The storytelling was not merely a passive activity it was an immersive journey that kept every child thoroughly engrossed from beginning to end.
The session was thoughtfully designed to be highly interactive. Ms. Chhabra skillfully engaged the students by asking questions, encouraging them to think critically, express their thoughts, and share their interpretations. This encouraged active participation, allowing children to not only listen but also to reflect, respond, and relate to the stories on a personal level. Their enthusiastic responses were a testament to their comprehension and developing analytical abilities.
Beyond entertainment, the storytelling session served as a powerful educational tool. Each story carried a strong moral message—teaching the children about the pitfalls of greed and the beauty of true friendship. These life lessons, delivered through the medium of storytelling, were absorbed effortlessly by the young minds, reinforcing important values in a memorable and enjoyable way.
The session was a resounding success and truly brought the magic of stories alive. It fostered a love for reading and imagination among students, stimulated their creativity, and promoted emotional and moral development. Events like these play a crucial role in holistic learning and continue to nurture the inquisitive and expressive spirit of Salwanians.
It was indeed a delightful, enriching, and magical experience—one that both students and teachers will cherish for a long time.
