Psychology Internship at Fortis Hospital

Eight students from Class XI of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar successfully completed a six-day internship in Psychology at Fortis Hospital, conducted between Monday, 03 June 2025 and Saturday, 28 June 2025. Organized in batches across various Fortis branches, the internship offered a unique and enriching opportunity for students to explore the field of mental health through hands-on learning and professional exposure.

The internship provided a comprehensive overview of psychological principles and practices, covering a wide range of topics including psychological interviewing techniques, mental disorders, branches of psychology, identity development, therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy, and the importance of community mental health initiatives.

Through interactive sessions, expert guidance, and real-world discussions, students gained practical insights into the world of psychology, deepening their understanding of human behaviour and mental wellness. The experience helped sharpen their empathy, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence, while offering clarity about potential career paths in mental health and allied professions.

The internship proved to be a highly rewarding experience, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-life application. It not only enriched the students’ academic journey but also fostered a deeper awareness of mental health and the need for compassion and support in today’s world.
