Orientation Session for Class IX – Partnering Parents and Students for Future Success

An orientation session for the students and parents of Class IX was conducted on Tuesday, 24 March 2026 by Smt Bhawna Puri, Vice Principal, to familiarise them with the school’s vision, academic framework, and expectations for the new academic session. The session commenced with the introduction of the new logo by the Salwan Education Trust, implemented as part of a rebranding initiative. Parents were informed that while the uniform design remains unchanged, a transition period of approximately ten months has been provided for adopting the updated logo.
The school reiterated its commitment to holistic development by emphasising core values such as creativity, innovation, and compassion. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), a strong focus on skill-based learning has been introduced. This includes coding and AI-based projects, hands-on STEM activities, and structured Saturday skill sessions covering practical life skills such as cooking, electrical work, carpentry, and first aid. The ‘One Sport One Child’ initiative ensures that every student actively participates in a chosen sport.
The Vice Principal acquainted the parents to the academic structure, in accordance with the Central Board of Secondary Education guidelines, that comprises two Periodic Tests, two Term Examinations, and a Pre-Final Examination, with a minimum passing requirement of 33% and mandatory 75% attendance.
Clear communication protocols were outlined, encouraging parents to follow the proper hierarchy for addressing concerns. Discipline expectations, including punctuality, correct uniform, and responsible behaviour, were emphasised. Student support systems such as bridge classes and completion sessions were also highlighted.
The Vice Principal concluded the session with a focus on student wellbeing, including meditation, healthy dietary habits, and regular newspaper reading. Parents were encouraged to collaborate actively with the school to ensure the all-round development and success of their children. At the end was the interactive session where the parents were invited to clear their queries.
