Movie outing ‘Ikkis’ – Cinema that Educates and Inspires

An educational outing was organised for the students of Classes VI to VIII to Modi Mall, where they watched the movie Ikkis. A total of 234 students, accompanied by 12 teachers, participated in the excursion. The film, based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war, highlights the life and bravery of Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetarpal. Beyond depicting warfare, the movie sensitively portrayed themes of courage, sacrifice, friendship, longing, and regret, thereby emphasising the human cost of war. The students were deeply engaged, particularly during the intense battlefield scenes and tank bombings, which filled them with awe and respect for the brave soldiers of the nation. After returning to school, a reflective classroom activity was conducted in which students shared the values they had learnt and identified one habit they wished to change after watching the film. Their responses reflected a strong sense of patriotism, discipline, courage, and gratitude towards the armed forces, making the outing a meaningful, enriching, and highly impactful experience for all participants.
