Embodying Truth and Virtue: Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra Special Assembly

‘Be the change that you wish to see in the world.’ – Mahatma Gandhi. This thought was brought to life during the Special Assembly on Monday, 29 September 2025, organised by Gandhi House to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra with reverence and enthusiasm. Held at the MPH Ground Floor, the event seamlessly blended the values of truth, non-violence, and the eternal victory of good over evil, reflecting both Gandhiji’s life and the message of Dussehra.
The programme began with a warm welcome by the student anchors, followed by the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra with its meaning by students of Classes IV–VI. This was succeeded by a soulful rendition of the bhajan ‘Vaishnav Jan To’ by students of Classes IV–VIII, evoking Gandhiji’s ideals of compassion and humanity.
A highlight of the assembly was the Khadi Show, accompanied by instrumental music, presented by students of the Primary Wing (I–V). The graceful walk of students adorned in khadi symbolised Gandhiji’s vision of simplicity, self-reliance, and dignity of labour, reinforcing the message of Swadeshi, sustainability, and pride in indigenous fabric.
Principal Ma’am’s address inspired all, urging students to imbibe the values of Gandhiji and Lord Rama, practising truth, courage, and kindness in their daily lives. The cultural segment featured a thought-provoking Laghu Natika on the victory of good over evil, staged by students of Classes VI–XI, highlighting how virtues like honesty, respect, and righteousness triumph over selfishness and wrongdoing.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem, filling everyone with pride and patriotic fervour. The event was a meaningful blend of devotion, learning, and celebration, leaving a lasting impression on both students and teachers.
