Educational Visit to AIIMS 70th Foundation Day Celebration

On the occasion of the 70th Foundation Day of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, 24 students of Class XI accompanied by Smt Bhaskar Valli ( PGT Science), had the unique opportunity to participate in the celebrations on Friday, 26 September 2025. A health exhibition on the theme “Healthy Lifestyle: AIIMS ka Sandesh” was organised, offering a wealth of knowledge and experience to all participants.

The exhibition showcased departmental exhibits that highlighted cutting-edge advancements in medicine. Students gained valuable career insights into the medical field at both national and global levels. The day was marked by interactive learning, as students engaged enthusiastically with medical professionals, clarified their queries, and explored diverse medical specialties. They also availed themselves of health check-ups, including sugar, blood pressure, skin, dental and memory tests, and received hands-on training in CPR.

A particularly remarkable highlight was the workshop organised by the Department of Haematology, where Dr Tushar explained modern diagnostic techniques for blood cancer, malaria and dengue. Students worked with high-end microscopes to examine red blood cells, platelets and neutrophils, while also learning how AIIMS manages over 10,000 samples on a daily basis. Another memorable experience was the visit to the Anatomy Lab, where students observed real human organs such as the heart, kidneys, liver, spinal cord and lungs, studied their anatomy, and even witnessed rare cadaver dissections.

The visit proved to be an immensely enriching and transformative experience. It not only deepened the students’ scientific curiosity but also provided invaluable exposure and learning that extended far beyond the confines of textbooks.
