Cyber Security and Digital Citizenship

A Cyber Security Workshop was conducted for the students of Class VIII to promote awareness about safe and responsible online practices. The session was led by Sh. Suresh Kumar, a Delhi Police Officer with over 15 years of experience in cybercrime awareness.
During the workshop, students were sensitized to various cyber threats such as phishing, vishing, cracked games, the use of free VPNs, and fake public Wi-Fi, with a strong reminder that “nothing is free” in the digital world. The session also covered:
- Safe social media practices
- Catfishing and online grooming
- Fake news and misinformation
- Risks associated with online gaming
- Digital footprint management
Students were also introduced to practical safety tools like Google Play Protect, the MKAVACH-2 app and the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP), along with the dedicated cybercrime helpline number 1930.
The workshop was highly enriching, informative and interactive. Students actively participated by asking relevant and thought-provoking questions, reflecting their keen interest in the topic. The session significantly enhanced their understanding of online safety and encouraged responsible digital behavior.
