Embracing Diversity, Strengthening Unity ‘वैविध्य – 2026’

On Friday, 13 February 2026, Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar staged ‘वैविध्य- – Celebrating Diversity’, a cultural presentation by the students of Classes III – V, reflecting the spirit of unity that defines India. The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp symbolising auspicious beginnings. In her Welcome Address, Capt Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal, emphasised that unity, respect, and shared values bind a diverse society together.Her address beautifully aligned with the theme ‘वैविध्य‘ , paving the way for the programme, followed by a melodious rendition of ‘Swāgatam Shubha Swāgatam’ by the primary school choir.
The programme featured a cultural journey across six states — Maharashtra, Goa, Bengal, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan — each segment thoughtfully depicting the distinctive traditions, attire, festivals, music and dance forms of the region. From the devotional fervour of Maharashtra to the colourful vibrance of Rajasthan, the rhythmic energy of Punjab, the artistic grace of Bengal, the coastal charm of Goa and the classical richness of Tamil Nadu, every performance reflected the unique identity of its state. The performances were marked by confidence, grace and enthusiasm, effectively portraying the richness of India’s heritage and the harmony that binds its people together.
Complementing the stage presentations, parent volunteers curated state-wise stalls displaying traditional cuisine and cultural elements, providing guests with an immersive glimpse into the diverse flavours and customs of the country. Their wholehearted support contributed significantly to the success of the occasion.
Smt. Sheetal Kapoor, Headmistress, delivered the Vote of Thanks, appreciating the collective efforts behind the celebration. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the audience inspired and proud of the harmonious fabric that unites our great nation.
